New ENERGY STAR Standards Effective January 1, 2020

ENERGY STAR is a globally recognized program that sets high energy efficiency standards to significantly reduce energy loss.

Purchasing ENERGY STAR certified windows and doors increases your comfort, reduces your environmental footprint and saves you approximately 10% in energy costs - an additional hundred of dollars a year in your pocket .

Right now, this program divides the country into 3 climatic zones, each have proper isolation criteria, based on an average annual temperature indicator, also known as heating-degree day (HDD).

However, as of January 1, 2020, Canada will become one single zone, the coldest. Criteria will therefore be standardized to the most rigorous existing one, thus ensuring maximum insulation and even greater energy costs for all.

At the moment, by buying a window rated to the coldest area, you will save even more energy and money, and your fenestration will be up to date with the next standards.
